Yet, the company continues to report significant financial losses and warns of further instability. This highlights that automation alone does not guarantee resilience. 

Real-world failures reinforce the point. In the UK, an automated system used by the Department for Work and Pensions incorrectly flagged around 200,000 housing-benefit claims. Not due to faulty algorithms but because no clear ownership existed for outcomes. Similar patterns appear in enterprise settings. When an AI system suspends the wrong account or rejects a valid claim, the critical question becomes who is accountable, not why the model erred. 

Research from Edelman and KPMG shows declining trust in AI and a strong preference for continued human involvement in many tasks. Transparency also matters. Studies cited from PwC indicate customers are more likely to trust organizations that clearly disclose when and how AI is used.
